Shahab Khan and his journey from theatre to the film industry.

Shahab Khan was born on 10th November 1967 in Barabanki, Lucknow. He was very little when he decided to become an actor because of the craze that he had within him for movies and heroes of the 60s, 70s and 80s. He is a big fan of Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. He did his schooling at Podar School, Santacruz. He has grown up watching movies on first day, first show. His love for the cinema and theatres is impressive. He joined Pt. Satyadev Dubey at the Prithvi Theatre in the year 1998. He also got associated with Arpana Theatre which is run by Sunil Shanbag. He gradually moved to movies and shows. He started from the episodic shows like Aahat, Crime Patrol, CID and many more. Then he also did a few shows on DD National like the big and hit show “Meher” which gave him a little recognition as an actor. Gradually he kept working on various more channels like Star Plus, Sony TV, Zee TV, Imagine, Star One, Colors and many more. His major breakthrough happened in the 2009-2012 running show “Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya” before that he worked in “Na Aana Is Des Laado” on Colors. Laado did give him a small recognition but Pratigya made him a character star. He set his benchmark in the TV industry that only he is able of playing a sweet innocent father on-screen. After that, we did keep seeing him in varieties of shows on various channels. He is an actor who takes an initiative to work with newcomers and banners as well. He doesn’t see who is big and small. He has a passion for work. He is simple in real life. When he was in theatre, he worked in Mat Yaad Dila, Brahma Vishnu Mahesh, Cycle walla, Montage etc. The shows were big hits. He has also done movies like “Chal Chalein”, “Inteqam: The Perfect Game”, “Allah Ke Bandey”, “Vaada Raha”, “Heroes”, “The Attacks of 26/11″, ” “Majaz- Ae Gham-E- Dil Kya Karun” etc. He did web shows like “Bhaukaal” on MX Player in which he had seen playing “Mohit Raina’s” father then “Abhay” on Zee5 and some more. In 2011, he was seen in Adaalat with “Ronit Roy” on Sony TV.
